A dinner of sugarplums

nutcracker The Nutcracker is a chestnut,yes, but this is the time of year for traditional and sentimentalpleasures and even though you've seen her umpteen times, it's hard toresist the sugarplum fairy. This year, add to the experience by reserving a table at Bambarabefore the ballet. For the run of the ballet (December 7-29) at CapitalTheater, chef David Jones will be serving a special "Clara's Dream"menu at the restaurant which will open early, at 5:00 pm, to accomodatetheater-goers on performance nights.

The “Clara’s Dream” three-course menu is priced at $28 for adultsand $12 for children. Selections will change nightly to introducediners to Chef Jones’ tasty new offerings but this gives you an idea ofwhat might be on your plate:

“Stahlbaums' Stew" (Braised Beef Bourguignonne with Winter Root Vegetables)
“Nutcracker Prince Pasta" (Winter Squash Fettuccine with Walnut and Pistachio-Browned Butter Sauce)
“Mother Ginger Curry" (Beef Curry with Ginger Stir-Fry Vegetables)
“Dancing Snowflake Cake" (Green Tea Flourless Chocolate Cake Sprinkled with Powdered Sugar)
“Land of Sweets ( A Selection of House-made Sorbets and Ice Creams withflavors like Sugar Plum, Christmas Tea, Chocolate, and Coffee)
