About This Blog
A lack of serious ambition, a love of cooking and a degree in Latin naturally led to a career in food writing for Mary Brown Malouf.
Her 25 years of experience has included stints as executive editor of D magazine in Dallas, Texas; executive editor at wine.com in Napa, California; and restaurant critic for The Salt Lake Tribune.
Now, she’s the dining editor for Salt Lake magazine, where she writes about the food scene in Salt Lake City and beyond. Check in regularly for the latest restaurant news, great products from local purveyors, and conversation about all things gustatory.
If you have news, tips or other information about the dining scene you'd like to share, email Mary.

Ummm.....If you really want to be relevant with the restaurant scene trying being positive, talking about the food more in depth and quit using this blog as an ad portal. that'll be a start. Good luck.
Wow! I love this blog and check it often for Salt Lake foodie information. The comment below seems a little uncalled for, I don't feel there's a negative slant in the reviews - and in truth, if there is a negative slant, I appreciate the honesty. Thanks Salt Lake magazine for keeping me abreast of local food info!
MM, please excuse the use of this forum , if inappropriate usage? Happened upon the newest issue of SL Mag. and found article about Acme Burger Company. Yes, indeed I am the owner/operator and wonder if you all would consider a clarification in the next issue? There is a potential for major inconveniences to the public with the description of our Brunch as a breakfast. Many people will construe this to mean we open at 7 a or so, and in fact, we open for Brunch on Saturdays , as well as, Sundays at 11:00a.m. and serve that particular menu until 3:00pm , both days. Thank you for your coverage , sincerely, alan ireland.
P.S. In the spirit of seasonality and best use of fresh, we have altered the brunch menu with some incredible new dishes. As in the Rabanada, essentially a brazilean churro, over the top, too! You can see all our new summer menus on line at acmeburgercompany.com
