Support a local farmer @ PC's Spruce Thursday

Support a local farmer @ PC's Spruce Thursday

If you haven't trekked up to Park City's new Dakota Mountain Lodge to eat at Spruce, the Utah outpost of the acclaimed San Francisco restaurant, Thursday night would be a good time to go.

The restaurant is known for supporting local food producers in California, and Chef Mark Sullivan aims to do the same thing here.

Thursday night, he and his kitchen will present a Harvest Dinner, a farm-to-table tasting menu, each seasonal dish highlighting and inspired by local ingredients. And if you have any questions about what makes these locally-grown and made foods special, just ask the farmer. They are all invited, so one might be sitting next to you.

Each course will be paired with complementary wines, and—here's the really good part that allows you to justify A Big Night Out—part of the $100 tab goes to Slow Food Utah, the organization behind so much of our state's raised food consciousness.

Cocktails are at 6. Dinner starts at 6:30. Make your reservations by calling 435-647-5566.

For 100 dollars I could buy enough local produce to feed my family for a week.

Restaurants such as Spruce (and many others) and dinners like this are what allow local farmers to thrive. Nothing wrong with celebrating them in style! And it's fundraiser for Slow Food Utah. Good things in abundance.

What part of the $100 goes to slow food? I'm sure the restaurant is great but, would like to know how much is actually donated.
