Park City's Other Film Festival
Though Robert Redford’s film festival gets the lion’s share of attention during the last week of January in Park City, the Slamdance Film Festival—held January 21–28—is steadily gaining ground. Established 16 years ago, Slamdance features more than 100 feature, short and documentary films, limited to first-time filmmakers and budgets of $1 million or less. The once-rogue and now internationally respected event also includes educational panels on topics like filmmaking and independent distribution that are free and open to the public.
Tickets can be purchased at slamdance.com or at the festival’s box office and screening venue, the Treasure Mountain Inn, located at 255 Main Street.
