Liz Slager stepped away from the high powered world of corporate finance, as a CPA in KPMG's San Francisco branch, to devote her energy and time to raise her two children. When she considered her next step, she discovered real estate.
"When I decided to go back to work full-time, I looked for something where I could interact more with other people," she says. "I love helping people find the right house or helping them sell their home when things change. I get genuinely excited when I have helped someone find the perfect home whether its $100,000 or $1,000,000, for me the rush is the same."
Now a top independent real estate consultant for Coldwell Banker, ranked in the top 2% of the company nationwide and finalist for the Salt Lake Board of Realtor's, Realtor of the Year Award for 2 consecutive years. Slager is a champion of the Salt Lake market, and, as a transplant to the area herself, believes she has a special insight for newcomers.
"I can relate to the concerns and trepidations that many people have when they consider relocating to Utah," she says." Having lived on the east and west coasts for most of my life, I am able to quell their misconceptions about Salt Lake and help them to realize what a great place it is to live."
Slager's father was a home builder in South Florida, and so she grew up watching the changing housing market. This fundamental knowledge has helped her work even harder for her clients through the market slowdown. Slager uses her creative mind with each project. She's been known to hold art auctions at homes, barbeques on vacant lots, Easter egg hunts and even offered pony rides to bring buyers on site.
"One of my most successful events was called 'Dine and Dash,' she says. "I held three of my listings open during the evening hour commute and had foods from several of the local favorite restaurants to draw traffic to my seller's homes. We even offered live cooking demonstrations to show off the kitchens."
