"I guess it's in the jeans," says Tiffany Colaizzi, founder and owner of Name Droppers, Salt Lake City's highest-fashion consignment shop.
Three generations of women-Tiffany, her mother, Deanna, and her daughter, Sydney-combined their creativity, fashion sense and natural knack for customer service to build a business that draws consigners from fashion centers like Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Palm Beach. Gathering trends from so many areas gives Name Droppers a distinct edge in the highly competitive retail fashion industry.
Tiffany's vision for Name Droppers has always been a store with high-end designer clothing at affordable consignment store pricing. With its black-and-pink walls, crystal chandeliers and 3,000 square feet of clothing and accessories for both men and women, Name Droppers on Highland Drive rivals designer boutiques in its selection, ambience and service. Deanna designed the space when the store outgrew its original location on Parleys Way, which became Name Droppers Outlet, selling merchandise marked down further from its original consignment price.
"I feel I was born to be in retail," says Tiffany. "I gained all of my business sense from working with my mother daily for my first five years in business. She is the wisest woman I know."
Tiffany's daughter Sydney also grew up in the business. Her grandmother Deanna proudly remarks:
"Sydney could take over the business tomorrow-she understands every aspect of it and is wonderful with customers."
Maybe Tiffany is right about those "jeans."
