Bret Michaels Tonight…in Wendover
OK, so I’ve never been a fan of Wendover, but I get it. Easy fun, easy entertainment and for the Utah young’uns, one of the rights of passage to well, experience some adulthood. So to speak. (I’m an East Coaster, so for me and my friends, it was driving up to Montreal from Vermont to bar-hop. Though, I will in no way compare Montreal to Wendover! But anyway.)
Tonight Bret Michaels will play the Peppermill Concert Hall (8 PM). Bret Michaels? I’m a fan! Yes, of course I was a fan of Poison back in the day. I mean, who wasn’t? Look What the Cat Dragged In was a major 80′s highlight and the soundtrack to millions of rights of passage… And who doesn’t want to play Every Rose Has Its Thorn on the guitar? Exactly.
Even when Michaels strutted his stuff on VH1′s Rock of Love and things got pretty skanky, I still loved him, and then Celebrity Apprentice? The Donald loved him, too.
Everyone knows all this, and how fabulous Mr. Michaels is, but what really amazes me is how he’s touring around singing just months after suffering a brain aneurysm. Here is a guy who loves his work. This is what I’m getting at, here. The dude simply rocks.
So go see him and show your support. If you want to go to Wendover, that is, and um, if you can get tickets. The show is actually sold out online, but you know how it goes. When there’s a will, there’s a way.
