Thank you, Karen Olson at Metropolitan for filling my inbox with useful information. I wish all you chefs, restaurateurs, foodies and farmers would communicate with me like this. Karen wanted me-and anyone else who cares about food, people and the planet Earth-to know about this film-called Fresh-showing tonight at the City Library at 7 pm.

You may think you know it all from reading Michael Pollan's Omnivore's Dilemma or watching Fast Food Nation, but the story of food is always about the story of people and you can always hear something new from a different person's point of view.

Fresh tells the story of people who are reinventing our food system-urban farmer and activist, Will Allen, the recipient of MacArthur's 2008 Genius Award; sustainable farmer and entrepreneur, Joel Salatin; and supermarket owner, David Ball, challenging our Wal-Mart dominated economy.

And tomorrow-Wednesday-night, Metropolitan Chef Justin is doing a cooking demo at Whole Food's 400 South Store at 7 pm in support of the Salt Lake Film Center and the new film FRESH.
