If you missed Bob Dylan at Deer Valley (read Mary's review, here), Tuesday, you can make up for it tonight by going to see John Prine, another iconic singer/songwriter who struck it big in the 60's. Friday's gallery stroll as usual will feature several exhibits of all kinds of media. We're especially looking forward to Alpine Art's (430 E South Temple) Traditional Contemporaries showing, which features work from Marian Dunn, Anthony Ithurralde, Dave Marlaire, Cassandria Parsons, Jeff Pugh and Angela Woods. Look for colorful landscapes and old-time scenes.

Finch Lane's (54 Finch Lane) Fusion and Vision glass art exhibit by the Glass Art Guild of Utah has also gotten our attention, with an interesting mix of bowls, jewelry and wall art pieces.

When: Friday, Aug 20; 6-9 PM

How: Visit for a list of participating galleries and their current exhibits.

Or maybe we should call him, "General Entertainment." Garrison Keillor is bringing his classic Prairie Home Companion show to town. There will be comedy sketches, poetry, music and Keillor's famed, "News from Lake Wobegon." If you're one of his four million NPR listeners, well, we'll see you there. If not, look for a review of the show back here at on Monday!
