Weekends were made for movies, right? Here's what we suggest you see this weekend. We also suggest you report back to us with a review.

Park City Film Series

Winters Bone, the flick won the Grand Jury Prize at the '10 Sundance Film Festival, is showing at this weekend's PC Film Series. The 'riveting thriller' (yeah, we ripped that start outta the USA Today review) follows a young girl through the Ozark's as she attempts to track down her drug-dealin' dad. She's faced with lies, threat and evasions while trying to piece together her family mysteries. Jennifer Lawrence leads the show with her performance as Ree. (....you might remember Lawrence from her show-stopping role in a 2006 episode of Monk as the school Mascot.)

Showing Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m.

PowderWhore Productions (Backcountry Telemark Ski Movies/Big Mountain Freeride Films) is showing TeleVision at Brewvies til Oct. 1. Hello serious ski porn. Top skiiers, plenty of powder from Utah's own Wasatch Mountains and a couple of momentous tumbles, this is your movie to get you pumped for ski season. Beer + skiing = SLC at it's finest.

Big Screen

The Social Network a.k.a The Facebook movie with JT hits theaters Friday. Naturally, the web cave at SLmag is probably more excited than we should be about it. But really, facebook, Justin Timberlake, lies, deception...um Oscar buzz? Yeah it's got it all. Plus it was written by Aaron Sorkin, the mastermind behind The West Wing and A Few Good Men. We've got high hopes for you FB movie, don't let us down!
