Local Chefs are cooking up some of their finest food to benefit the American Red Cross of Utah. Next Thursday Night, 12 of Northern Utah's most lauded chefs will showcase their culinary crafts at Earl's Lodge at Snowbasin Ski Resort. You can expect to taste the best from Sonora Grill, Zucca Trattoria, Bistro 258, Tona and more.

The evening of food and fun begins with a chef tasting and silent auction, followed by a seated dessert and live auction. Complimentary wine and a signature cocktail created by Ogden's Own Underground Distillery will be offered.

Bonus: Chef Alex Govern of the Davis Bistro (located inside the Davis Hospital) has provided his recipe for Cilantro Lime Chicken and Rice to get mouths watering for the event.

Rice:

1 lb Long Grain, Dry Brown Rice

1 Cup fresh chopped cilantro

3/4 cup oil

1/2 cup lime juice

4 tbsp salt and pepper, to taste

Steam rice til cooked. Combine all other ingredients and serve hot

Chicken:

5 Chicken Breast Filets

1/2 cup Fresh, minced garlic cloves

8 oz fresh lime juice

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup fresh chopped cilantro

4 tsp crushed red pepper

3 tbsp kosher salt

2 tbsp black pepper

10 8'' skewers

Cut the chicken in 2.5 ounce strips and skewer lengthwise. Combine all other ingredients and marinade chicken. After marinading, place skewers evenly on a tray and bake in a 400 degree oven or grill until done.
