Kids are more honest than anyone when it comes to reviewing movies. They'll fall asleep if it's boring, complain if it's confusing and recite the entire script line by line for the next month when they really, really like it...unlike some adult critics who change their write-up once they see Rotten Tomatoes or Ebert posts online.
And since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1 premieres on Thursday night, we decided to include several other film-related events to check out as well.
THURSDAY
Thanksgiving Point's Harry Potter Party
The midnight premiere is sold out, but call right now and you can still get in on the Hogwarts-themed party with witch and warlock activities, costume contests, goodies, prizes and treats. It's $15 per head and runs till midnight.
Thanksgiving Point's Amber Room, 8 p.m. 2929 North Thanksgiving Way, Lehi Call 801-768-2300 or click here
By the way, we'll be shooting photos for our People section at the party. Find our photographer Cortney, and tell her to take your photo for the magazine.
Christmas Vacation: The Bi-polar Express
Not a movie, but the Desert Star always seems to find a way to parody popular films with some quirky Utah references. So, you'll definitely want to snag tix to their play based on The Polar Express. We'll be there to write a review, so check back for our take on the show. The play runs through Jan. 1.
Desert Star Theatres, 7 p.m. 4861 S. State Street, Murray Click here for tix
FRIDAY
