Chanukah on Ice

After a hard-fought victory for religious freedom, the Maccabees returned to their temple with enough oil to light the holy lamp for one day, but it lasted eight. Now, Rabbi Benny Zippel celebrates the occasion every year with Chanukah on Ice. Utah's Jewish community and their guests are invited to skate several hours for free on the Gallivan Center's rink to traditional music, followed by latkes, sufganiyah (jelly donuts) and Utah's largest indoor menorah lighting. 239 S. Big Bird in Hebrew

The new season of Shalom Sesame (the Jewish Sesame Street) premiers on Dec. 5. The I. J. & Jeanne Wagner Jewish Community Center is showing the first episode, which will be all about Chanukah.
