If you haven't stepped inside the glass doors of Sugarhouse's beauty emporium, Got Beauty, you are certainly missing out on the ultimate girly-mecca.
For those of you who haven't had the 'beautiful' experience, Got Beauty is not your typical Sally Beauty-esque store. One part Sephora, one part salon and a dash of whimsy, Got Beauty is all things pretty with a just a bit of spice. From the minute you walk through the christmas-light lit threshold, you are surrounded by cosmetics, hair care products, girly-gifts and everything in-between.
The shop out front often outshines the salon quietly hidden in the back and upstairs, featuring tongue-in-check girlfriend gifts, a rainbow colored assortment of eyeshadows and nail polishes, floor-to-ceiling shelves packed with cosmetics and accessories and a shoe section that rivals the styles found in Nordstrom. While the boutique may be appealing, the ladies 'man-ing' the salon are a talented crew, offering the best in pedicures, manicures, waxing, hair and more.
So why the recognition now? As a long time patron of Got Beauty, I was elated to find out the local boutique had recently been named one of the 25 Best Beauty Stores in the country, quite a large honor for a local business.
Last month Beauty Store Magazine honored Got Beauty with the prestigous title, among the likes of Sephora and Ulta. Owner Tammy Taylor was highlighted in the magazine, noting her business-savvy mindset, eclectic product selection and all-in-all unique shop.
Got Beauty is currently celebrating 11 years in business, continuing to thrive, selling top of the line products and offering what has been called the best brazilian wax in town.
Congrats to Tammy Taylor, one of Salt Lake magazine's featured Women in Business! And, as a frequent Got Beauty customer, I highly recommend stopping by the next time you want to indulge in your 'frilly' side, looking for the perfect gift for a friend or need a pick-me-up manicure. You can't go wrong walking into the brick and mortar stand-alone in Sugarhouse.
