We all love a good chuckle on April Fool's Day. But some of us (me) just aren't any good at eliciting those laughs ourselves. The jokes and pranks either run so out of control that someone gets hurt and it just isn't funny any more, or you resort to putting paper fish cutouts on people's backs (it's a French thing).

To save yourself the pain and humiliation of April Fool's Day gone wrong, the Egyptian Theater in Park City has a far better alternative for you. Stand-Up Like an Egyptian is a comedy show that runs all year long, but on April Fool's Day weekend, the folks down at the Egyptian Theater have put something special together for you.

On both Friday and Saturday nights at 8:30 p.m., enjoy a round of laughter with some close friends. Comedienne Kathleen McCann hosts, local comedian Cody Eden is featured, and the whole event is headlined by Roz Browne.

This event is for mature audiences only (well... perhaps we should expand that to audiences ages 18+), so find a babysitter and leave the kiddies at home. The doors open at 8 p.m. and the shows start at 8:30 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 at the door; go online to egyptiantheatrecompany.org or call 435-649-9371 to get your tickets.

Head on down, and get your fill of laughs for the year!
