Yes, indeed. It's the Fourth of July holiday weekend dead ahead and not surprisingly there are fine entertainment options available aside from just parades and backyard barbecues.

Let's run down some of the can't miss stuff:

If you're out Thursday night, it'll be tough to avoid some jam. And no, that's not a bad thing. Over at Flanagan's on Main Street in Park City, Jeremiah Maxey will do the one-man band thing with skill and panache, as he usually does. Jeremiah's got a fine songbook comprised of originals and covers.

Over at  Urban Lounge, local jammers Wafer open for Colorado's everything-and-the-kitchen-sink-style jammers Yamn. Yamn plays steadily around the West and has built of sizable following. Should be a long night of grooving. Here they are covering the Crue. Go figure.

And on Friday night, the soulful pop-rock of Marc Broussard will be featured at The State Room. It seems relatively rare lately when a show down there isn't a sell-out, so take advantage. And there's a dinner/show package with TSR's State Street neighbor at Sapa Sushi Bar and Grill.

Here's Broussard's video for "Come In From The Cold."

And it's tough to think of two more divergent audiences than the ones that'll congregate oh-so separately in Provo and in Park City.

BYU's LaVell Edwards' Stadium will host its annual Stadium of Fire and celebration of all things Republican and American. Country hitmaker Brad Paisley is the headliner this year and local boy/American Idol alum David Archuleta supports.

Meanwhile, folks with largely differing American values will be boogieing away to the grooves provided by Karl Denson's Tiny Universe at the Jupiter Bowl in Park City. The show is 21+.

And on Monday, Snowbird offers what should be a free, fun show when The Quick & Easy Boys play starting at 1 p.m.
