It was a sweep at Local First's. Chef Challenge, held over the weekend. Jerry Liedtke of Tin Angel and his sidekick Frazer Buchanan competed against hotshots Forage and Communal in the annual cook-off featuring local, surprise ingredients from the Downtown Farmers Market. Tin Angel won in every category. Appetizer, Entree and Overall. Check out the full story on Local First's website, and make a reservation at Tin Angel. Sounds like the kitchen is hot.

Park City Food & Wine Classic: Kicking off Thursday night with a library wine tasting at St. Regis Deer Valley and finishing up on Sunday with a beer-unch at High West, PCFW has the weekend packed with seminars, wine-tastings, restaurant strolls, wine classes -- something for everyone. Yelp Eats: From July 11-17, eight highly-rated restaurants in the area are offering a special Yelp Eats dinner menu that features three appetizers, three entrees, and three desserts at 50% off. The goal is to encourage people to try some of Salt Lake's great local restaurants, so they can mix and match to make a three-course meal or just try a little from each spot. Go here for details and a list of participating restaurants. FYI: This is all about gaining recognition for local restaurants. Yelp doesn't make a dime on the deal.
Wining with Francis Fecteau's Libation: On July 13, Spencer's will host a wine social from 5 pm until 7 pm with Brian Sypher from Oregon's Soter Vineyards. Food is $30; wine is $30. Call 801-238-4748 for reservations.
