If your musical tastes run toward the punk-rock side of things, this is your kind of week. Let's take a look at our options.

Tuesday night, venerable Illinois punk rockers Alkaline Trio will be at In The Venue for what should be a fun night of relatively intense tunes - and considering the likely temperature on the floor and the likely moshing that'll be going on, I'd dress as lightly as possible for this one.

Here's Alkaline Trio's video "This Addiction."

Their new album, "Damnesia," is released the same day. Here's betting some of that gets played. Tickets start at $17.50 are available at 24tix.com.

On Wednesday, a less well-known, but equally viable punk music option hits the Urban Lounge where The Fresh & Onlys, pictured above, arrive. I was lucky enough to see this San Francisco-based outift open for King Khan a few years back and they're worth checking into if you like punk-infused sounds - especially if you like how the genre sounded circa 1979. Good stuff. Here they are playing "Invisible Forces." Tickets are $10 and are still available at 24tix.com.

Also Wednesday night, radio hitmakers Owl City are playing at In The Venue. The show was initially slated for Orem but has been moved. The Minnesota synth-poppers are touring behind "All Things Bright and Beautiful." Tickets are $25 in advance and $28 the day of the show. They're available at smithstix.com. Here they are playing "Deer in the Headlights."
