We’re getting a little more fashionable here at Salt Lakemagazine and for all you ladies (and gents) looking to get the scoop on local fashion news, finds and trends—search no further. Every Friday we’ll bring you a little tidbit from our style file. We’re calling it Fashion Friday, because honestly, who couldn’t use a chic and sleek lift at the end of the week?
We could think of no better way to kick things off than offering up key looks from the one and the only Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, which as been running all week from Lincoln Center in New York City. Even through you may be looking for that perfect summer-to-fall jacket, there’s no harm in extending your view and thinking about springtime looks for after the melt.
Fashion heavy-hitters from Tommy Hilfiger and Diane von Furstenberg to BCBG Max Azria and Ralph Lauren are promising billowy dresses and skirts and flowing, yet tailored looks in an array of colors from bright white to color-blocking on black for spring 2012.
And they aren’t leaving the men out. Though fitted and sleek reigned among suits, the loose look made an impact on the Michael Kors, John Varvatos and Calvin Klein runways, showing the dudes are certainly capable of hanging with the ladies.
Spring is months away, but it’s good to know these brands are all offered in our fair state at the likes of The Children’s Hour, Apt. 202 and Flight Boutique, among other boutiques and department stores.
