St. Vincent, the stage name of Annie Clark, will be at Urban Lounge for a buzz-tastic show that will display Clark's shimmering vocal talents. The 29-year-old is a terrific songwriter to boot - and even though she's off the radar for a lot of folks, people in the know have been quite giddy ever since this concert was announced. It's over at The Urban Lounge, so music starts at 10 p.m., but tickets are just $20. Cate Le Bon opens up.

Here is St. Vincent's "Cruel," from her latest release "Strange Mercy."

The "big show" of the week is when The Foo Fighters, pictured above, come calling at our local hockey rink, the Maverik Center. Me? I've never quite caught the buzz about these guys with tepid lyrics and cliched riffs, but ... I still want to go to see openers Cage The Elephant and Mariachi El Bronx. For those who don't know, Cage's first album - a self-titled 2008 release - is a blast of pure, wonderful rock music that everyone should check out. This should be a fun night, especially if Dave Grohl and gang chase me out early as I suspect they might. Tickets remain on sale through Ticketmaster.

The Foo Fighters, Walk:

And on Wednesday night, folkie Priscilla Ahn is at The State Room, while fusion guitarist extraordinaire Adrian Belew is at The Depot.
