Not to Fret...We Have a New One
This year, we can expect to get a lot of sad laughs out of a new head clown: Rep. Chris Herrod (R-Provo). He doesn't like car safety seats for kids older than five, moderate immigration laws (as favored by LDS leaders) or public TV that isn't produced at BYU. Last year, his claim to fame was demanding the budgets of University of Utah-based KUED. It's not Sesame Street he's worried about. He finds the NewsHour wasteful. "Should we be subsidizing a news source that somebody else is providing for free?" he said to the Salt Lake Tribune. Yes, television news teams just love to work pro bono.
