Throughout the year, there are many fundraisers and galas that benefit the wonderful visual and performing arts organizations here in Salt Lake City. I have had the privilege of being the chairperson of one that has been featured many times in Salt Lake magazine's Utah People section, Ririe-Woodbury's Cabaret of Fools.
Planning a fundraiser is a lot of work, of course, but it is also very rewarding. I have been the chairperson for this event for four years now, and each year it gets a little easier to plan and raises a little more money as we work to perfect the event. Putting on a great fundraiser really requires fantastic board members, staff and sponsors who are willing to put blood, sweat and tears into the event to make it a success. And in our case, we also have some amazingly talented dancers to entertain the crowd!
