A fun week lies ahead, let's look at the best options. After taking in my first baseball game of the season Sunday afternoon, I can attest that the Bees are a fun team to watch so far during the early season. The Bees are in a homestand that has them at Spring Mobile park through Friday night. Fun at the ballpark is indeed tough to beat and tickets are available for all games through smithstix.com.
For a good musical outing, look no further than Tuesday, when Abravanel Hall will be scene of a musical tribute to famed composer John Williams. The Utah Symphony presents the "Musical Magic of John Williams and Assistant Conductor Vladimir Kulenovic will hold the baton during the performance. The sold-out concert will feature the music of "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones," "E.T.," and the "Harry Potter" films, a scene of which is shown above. This should be a terrific night.
And Wednesday, Club Velour in Provo has an intriguing double-bill featuring acclaimed indie songwriter Damien Jurado and the duo Peter Wolf Crier. Either act would be worth the drive. Pairing them together makes it virtually a must-see. Tickets are available at 24tix.com.
The Urban Lounge has two fine indie-rock gigs on tap this week with School of Seven Bells headling Tuesday night's show and New York's Caveman performing Wednesday. Local rockers Tolchock Trio open Wednesday's concert. Both events start about 10 p.m. and tickets remain on sale for both at 24tix.com.
