Breakfast in bed is such a nice idea, but speaking as a loving mother…well, it's hard to make yourself pretend to sleep while people who don't know where anything goes rummage around in your kitchen, using every pot and pan available to overcook your eggs. Then you have to eat it all, hungry or not. Then get up and do the dishes.
Here is the brilliant solution–buy breakfast from a pro. Serve it to Mom in bed. Here are two places to call:

Ethan's famous breakfast sandwich with house-made English muffin, scrambled Tifie Ranch free range eggs, avocado, bacon and hollandaise, 7

At Bambara, it's back to the brunch buffet, but this is not your typical hotel buffet. Executive Chef Nathan Powers is far too fastidious for that. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. guests can sample a carving station with mustard glazed ham and organic turkey breast, made-to-order egg dishes, and a wide arrange of decadent pastries. Mouth-watering specialties out of Chef Powers' kitchen include Justin's famous quiches, poached prawns, brioche French toast, truffled macaroni and cheese, roasted spring asparagus and other delicacies. It's $38 for adults, $18 for children 6-12 years of age and $28 for senior citizens, and you must make reservations; this is always a sell-out.
Bambara is at 202 S. Main Street, SLC, 801-363-5454
