Utah artist Veronica Perez' show, (Re)affirming Visions opens Saturday, May 5, at the Gallery at LIbrary Square. Perez' artist's talk is at 3 pm; the exhibit opening is from 4 to 5:30 pm and will be up until June 15.

Perez' work focuses on themes drawn from her Latino heritage, As she says, attending this exhibit is a "great way to celebrate Mexico without all the commericialized, corporate hype."

Then Jorge Fiero is throwing his traditional Cinco de Mayo bash at the Rico's factory behind Frida Bistro. Live music from Salsa Brava Orchestra, Frida Bistro food, booths of artisan crafts and a cash bar of special margaritas (try the habanero-spiked one.)
