Stan Kaminski, General Manager of The St. Regis Deer Valley, is a military brat.
He was born on Fort Dix, New Jersey and moved with his brother and two sisters more than a dozen times during their childhood to different bases. Not surprisingly, he has a special understanding of the challenge of having a loved one away during holidays and special celebrations.
So for the second year in a row, Kaminski and the entire staff at The St. Regis Deer Valley will treat 50 family members of deployed soldiers, including 30 mothers to brunch at the luxe, five-star hotel at the acclaimed Jean-Georges restaurant, J&G Grill, Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 11:00 am.
"Mother's Day is the perfect day to recognize the importance of family. We want to show and to share our appreciation for our military families who are separated due to deployment in Afghanistan, Iraq or other places," Kaminski said.
Chef de Cuisine Matt Harris has devised a special menu for the occasion which will include Spring Pea Soup with Parmesan and Sourdough Croutons; Slow Cooked Salmon with Lemon Crumb and Sweet Chili Glaze; Niman Ranch Poulet Rouge with Spring Vegetables and Mustard Sauce; Jumbo Lump Crab with Old Bay Mayo; and Jean-Georges’ signature Molten Chocolate Cake.
