The trail marker is on the north side of the road.
Distance: 1.5 miles round-trip
Elevation gain: 600 feet
Time: Approximately one hour.
Trail: The trail is short, but steep. Plan to climb 600 feet in three-quarters of a mile. It’s a beautiful trail that follows Willow Creek to a small beaver pond. You will cut through an aspen grove that opens up to a small meadow. Be sure to look around here and you’ll get some great views of Brighton Ski Resort. The beaver pond is just past the meadow.
Who you’ll see: Diners you'll soon sit across the room from at Silver Fork Lodge, couples out for a short hike and a few runners looking to train on some steep terrain.
How to get there: Drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon and continue about half a mile past Silver Fork Lodge. You will see a stone trail marker on your left.
Apres-hike: Relax on the deck of Silver Fork Lodge sip a Wild Horse Pinot Noir. They also have a small but choice selection of local beers on tap.
You will cross a meadow with a small pond.
