But Amber DeBirk's Wasatch Pops and Snow Shack (www.facebook.com/wasatchpops) serves icy treats unlike any other in the city–made from fresh shaved ice with organic syrups and organic brown rice sweeteners, with no artificial coloring or flvoring. Visualize snowy fruit bombs, like Lime with Fresh Mint & Coconut Milk, Fresh Berry Organic Lemonade, Thai Iced Tea, Apricot Rosemary, and Avocado Banana Lime, with fresh herb syrups such as Rosemary Citrus, Lemon Mint & Basil and Serrano.

DeBirk serves from a classy blue and white vintage 1965 Aristocrat trailer refitted for food service and parked in Dan's parking lot at 3981 S. Wasatch Blvd.; hours are M-Sat from 1-9ish and occasional Sundays from 1-5. You can also find them at the Millcreek Community Farmer's Market this year, Thursdays from 4 to dusk starting July 26th, 3474 S. 2300 East.

If you doubt that these snowcones beat the usual neon-colored artificially flavored bubblegum variety that stained all your childhood T-shirts, ask Amber for a taste. I tried Grape/Rosemary Citrus, Strawberry/Lemon Mint, Esspresso Mexican Cane and Mango/Serrano Chile shaved ice and both popsicle specials: Pineapple Lime Serrano & Strawberry Balsamic with Black Pepper.
