Locals are stocking up on fireworks, and organizations are getting their floats ready for the big parade in downtown, SLC. The Days of '47 are upon us.
And if you just can't take the anticipation, you can start celebrating the Mormon pioneers arriving into the Salt Lake Valley a bit early on Saturday, July 7 as Family Fun Day makes its way to the Utah State Fairpark.
Join in for rodeo games, crafts, art, magic, carnival games, live music and entertainment (including dance and pioneer demonstrations), along with the Mini King and Queen Royalty Competition.
Pack your own lunch or buy from the fest's food vendors. Aside from the opportunity to learn about Utah's past, kids will also get to learn how to rope a cow and meet the Rodeo staff and some of the animals.
Best part: Parking and admission are free of charge.
