The sold-out kickoff event was last night, but that's okay: the real Park City Food & Wine Festival starts today.
The celebration of food, wine and the Park City lifestyle has had a lot of ups and downs over the years–this year, planning and management was pulled back into town and the event promises to be the best yet.
Today's seminars, for example, started with Mud, Sweat and Cheers, a bike ride through some of the most panoramic single-tracks in Park City. Participants were led and fed by Stein Eriksen Lodge executive chef Zane Holmquist with wines from Fisher Vineyards and David Arthur Vineyards.
The Main Street Stroll Grand Tasting starts at 4; walk from restaurant to restaurant for food and wine pairings.
And the Toast of Park City, the really big tasting, tomorrow at Canyons starts at 3.
Finally, The Montage Deer Valley will host the “Best of the Best” closing party for the 2012 Park City Food and Wine Classic on Saturday. It runs from 7 to 10 p.m. and will feature will feature top-tier wines, spirits and culinary creations by renowned Montage chefs, plus performers from Cirque du Soleil’s world-famous “O.”
