If you've been to the Shops at the Riverwoods in Provo lately, then you probably already know about Blickenstaff's and Called to Surf, but you might not know new locations for both stores are opening at The Gateway in SLC.

This week, we received this "sweet" message from the stores:

We had to erase some information that is specifically for the press' eyes.

The staff is split. Is the campaign a little too junior-high or completely genius? More than likely the latter, since it got us all talking about the stores for several hours. Meanwhile, other press releases were going unread.

And even after filling ourselves with sugar, we're excited for the openings.

Blickenstaff's is a vintage toy and candy store, filled with rare toys you'll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. We're hoping for a lot of costume items (knights helmets, wizard wands, etc.). For the joint grand opening with Called to Surf, the store will give one lucky winner free candy for a year. No, you did not read that wrong. You will be able to get a year's worth of candy if you win. It's up to you if you want to share it with the kids… but at least bring them to the opening.

And even though we're beachless, Called to Surf has doing really well at Riverwoods with their signature beach-style clothing. When it gets cold the inventory might change to beanies and jackets, but this time of year, modest swimwear and hot weather threads are available. Definitely a place to drop off the teens with their allowance. At the grand opening, the store will pick one lucky male and one lucky female customer to receive an entire outfit for free.

The stores came to the redesigned mall in Provo back in May 2010, and they will arrive at the Gateway on Aug. 9 for the grand opening. For more info, visit facebook pages for Blickenstaff's and Called to Surf.
