Fifteen years ago, you were probably buying your Doc Marten sandals at the Chalk Garden. Now, the iconic SLC fashion boutique and  predecessor to chic shops JMR and Lolabella, is back in the Beehive. And they've taken the fashion up a notch with brands like Frye, Joie, Porto, House of Harlow, Sam Edelman, Theory, Vince, Helmut Lang, Ash and Levi's Vintage, among others.

We gave you a sneak peek in our most recent Fashion Friday post, but come tomorrow, you can do one better when the shop opens its doors early for its Grand Opening Gala from 6-9 p.m. Cocktails from Bar-X and hors d'oeuvres by Martine will be served alongside an impressive mix of men's and women's brands.

Smack in the heart of downtown at 74 S. Main St., Chalk Garden Co-op takes a unique spin on shopping. The brains behind the shop call it "progressive retail," thanks to the collaborative approach with partners The Lanny Barnard Gallery and Lunatic Fringe Salon. Essentially, shoppers can take care of their artistic, beauty and fashion needs all in one place.

Tickets to the gala are $50 and can be purchased at Lolabella and JMR locations, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the Lupus Foundation's Utah Chapter.
