The Utah State Fair is often characterized by bright colors, tempting smells and the giant Ferris wheel, but this year Wahl Barbershop hopes it will also be characterized by the facial hair of its patrons. On Sept. 7-9 from 12-8 p.m., Wahl will have a 30-foot mobile barbershop at the fair, equipped with expert barbers and groomers as part of the 7th annual Wahl Face the Day Tour. The Face the Day Tour travels the country giving guys free trims and shaves. Prepared with the latest grooming tools from Wahl, their purpose is to help men find and learn how to keep their facial hair the way it looks best on them. As Wahl marketing director Steve Yde explains it, “From soul patch to mutton chops, 62 percent of men today sport facial hair at some point during the year. Guys today are using their facial hair to express themselves, but many don't know where to start. That's where we come in; the mission of the tour is to help guys find the look that is best for them while sending a message that with a little effort, education and the right tools, all men are capable of showing off their facial hair prowess.”

Not only does the free visit benefit the patron, but it also supports Movember, the global men's health charity that encourages men to grow and women to support a moustache, or Mo, for the 30 days of November. Through these moustaches, awareness and funds are raised for men's health, particularly prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. For every free trim performed on the tour, Wahl will donate $1 to the Movember cause. To register or learn more, visit

Other events sponsored by Wahl will be the Strong Man Challenge, your chance to demonstrate your mustache machismo, and the selection of the Wahl Man of Salt Lake City. The Wahl Man of Salt Lake City, a man picked for his great facial hair, will represent Salt Lake City and will be awarded $500 as well as a Lithium Ion + Stainless Steel Trimmer. In addition, he will be eligible to compete for the national title of Wahl Man of the Year, which holds an extra $1000 award. Contestants are encouraged to enter by visiting the mobile barbershop at the fair, or visiting the Wahl Barbershop website at

The final and arguably most unique attraction Wahl will be showcasing in front of their mobile shop is their giant 4-foot mustache sculpture made entirely out of Wahl trimmer parts.

So whether you need a trim or you just want to see what you would look like with a 4-foot mustache, make sure you stop by Wahl's mobile barbershop in front of the arena, just west of the grandstand, as part of your visit to the Utah State Fair this September.
