Cuisine Unlimited teams up with Camp Kostopulos

With the beginning of the school year comes the opportunity to teach my favorite cooking classes. It’s is a series of hands-on classes we conduct in our kitchens at Cuisine Unlimited for teens and adults with disabilities in conjunction with their activities at Camp Kostopulos.

Our goal is to teach skills to assist with socialization and independent living. I love teaching these classes and those who attend are absolutely amazing. Menus include teaching basic kitchen skills and food safety as well as nutrition. The students all prepare an entire dinner, and at the end of the evening, we sit down together to enjoy what we have made. We always include an entrée, salad or vegetable and dessert, all prepared by the participants.

At the end of the series of classes, students are given chef jackets as a graduation gift from us. This past year, Biz Wear Uniforms donated all the chef jackets and we had the students’ names embroidered on them. Many of us in the hospitality industry participate in many worthwhile community events.  I just wanted to share one of my favorites with you.
