Mere birthright alone doth not a Utahn create. What makes a true local? We say it is not the number of years you've lived within Zion's borders, but rather the zeal with which you explore all our state has to offer. If you're new, or if you're questioning your right to citizenship, we're here to help, with this refresher course. Every other week, we'll bring you a quintessential Utah-to-do experience. Check back for another to check off your list.

Visit the Planetarium:

Remember the days of the old Hansen Plaetarium at 15 S. State Street? Now, that building houses O.C. Tanner's beautiful Salt Lake store, and the current place to learn about our universe is the Clark Planetarium at the Gateway.

They've been there for nearly a decade now. And as the best place around to take the kids to see interactive displays on space, it's also where you'll find the Hansen Dome Theatre—360 degrees of black holes, stars, bugs or whatever presentation is showing.

Here's what you can check out now at the Hansen Dome:

Black Holes
Gateway to the Stars
Mayan Prophecies
Night Vision
Perfect Little Planet
Ultimate Universe
Violent Universe
Windows to the Universe

And showing through this Saturday:

Brad Stock: The Atomic Clock light show

Pay a visit, check the planetarium off your list, and see what we have for you next time.
