All of the classic tales of the American West can be recognized by the presence of one important animal: the horse.

Countless history books and movies recognize the importance of that majestic, free and wild creature in our country's expansion. Yet, according to non-profit Save The Wild Mustangs, those same iconic figures are being pushed to extinction by humans.

The mission statement of the organization is to “Raise public awareness to the plight of the American wild mustang.”

One of the ways they are raising that awareness is through a “FUNraiser” event that will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 6–9 p.m. at The Rose Establishment, 235 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City, UT.

The “FUNraiser” will include things like live music, a silent auction, food and a cash bar. They are also excited to present their “Studs Saving Stallions” 2013 calendar, featuring 12 "studs," at the event. Since space is limited and calendars are expected to sell out, pre-purchase both tickets and calendars online by clicking here.
