I never want to spend Thanksgiving Day in the kitchen. If we're not camping, I like to go out to Antelope Island and hike around all morning. Especially in this election year, when we've all just slogged through the ugliest part of being a republic, going out to an uninhabited island where the buffalo still roam, reminds me why I still like this country.

Of course, that's an irresponsible attitude on the part of one who's supposed to be the main turkey-baster for the day. But I bet I'm not the only one.
