Yoga for People, a non-profit organization, is out to "make yoga available to everyone on the planet"—bringing peace and happiness to people suffering from addiction, crime, anxiety and depression.
And they're holding a special “12.12.12” fundraising event this Dec. 12 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. On that day, patrons can drop in and experience a variety of unlimited yoga, tea and workshops in over 12 participating studios. With a minimum donation suggestion of $12, the event is open to the public with no pre-registration required.
All proceeds from the “12.12.12” fundraiser will be used towards bringing free yoga to teens and adults in shelters, prisons and other at-risk or underserved communities. In accordance with their belief in making yoga available for everyone, there will be over 12 satellite studios entertaining their own schedules in addition to the main venue in Trolley Square.
The Trolley Square schedule will feature classes taught by some of Utah's more influential yoga instructors who are donating their time and resources especially for this event. Class include Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Beginner Yoga, Falling for Inversions and Bhakti Yoga, ensuring there is something available and accessible for all who wish to participate.
