Alas, the 2013 Sundance Film Festival has begun, and it will be entertaining thousands of guests from all over the world this week.  Independent films, art galleries, delicious food, celebrities—these are only a few reasons why so many people enjoy this annual event. The social atmosphere is one-of-a-kind and everyone, including you, should attend. However, one thing that may make anyone question whether or not to go is stressing over parking and transportation.

Below you will find a list of theaters and parking locations that will help you enjoy your time Sundancing.

Park City - Parking Locations

Parking is very limited in Park City (especially during the Sundance Film Festival) and illegal parking results in immediate towing.  It's highly suggested that you leave your vehicle at your designated lodging area, or any of the parking locations listed below.

The YARD: 1950 Homestake Rd., Park City, UT

Park and Ride; Cost: $15 cash fee per entry

The YARD provides guests easy access to various venues, including the Temple Theatre, Eccles Theatre, Sundance Headquarters, The MARC, and Prospector. It is also a short walk to Holiday Village and The Yarrow. The free festival shuttle has a stop at this location.

The China Bridge Parking Structure: 420 Swede Alley, Park City, UT

Park and Walk; Cost: Cash fee (may vary)

The China Bridge is conveniently located two blocks from Main Street—a quick walk to the Egyptian Theatre and Sundance House. This facility is known to reach capacity often, so you may have to stalk someone leaving to find a space.

Monitor Drive Parking Lot: 2215 Monitor Dr., Park City, UT

Park, Walk, and Ride; Cost: Free (limited parking available)

Monitor Drive Parking provides limited free parking Monday–Friday, 3 p.m. to Midnight and all day Saturday. Guests are within walking distance to Eccles Theatre and a short ride to The MARC.

Lots F/G: (F) 1931 Prospector Ave. (G) 1829 Prospector Ave.

Park, Walk and Ride; Cost: Cash fee per entry (may vary). Limited parking. A short walk to Headquarters and Prospector, and a short shuttle ride to Eccles and The MARC.

Salt Lake City - Theaters and Parking

Rose Wagner Theatre: 138 West 300 South, Salt Lake City, UT

Metered parking is available around the Rose Wagner Center, and across the street. Cash fee per entry.

Broadway Theatre: 111 East Broadway, Salt Lake City, UT 

On 300 South you will find a parking garage next to the theater. Parking is on levels four through eight. Pay for parking at a discounted rate.

Tower Theatre: 876 East 900 South, Salt Lake City, UT

Street parking is available in front of the Tower Theatre or on surrounding streets.

Salt Lake Library Theatre: 210 East 400 South, Salt Lake City, UT

Underground parking is accessed from eastbound 400 South between 200 and 300 East. First half-hour is free, and $1.50 per half-hour after that.

Ogden - Theaters and Parking

Peery's Egyptian Theater: 2415 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT

Parking is located half a block east from the theatre, at 2424 Kiesel Ave. Street parking is also available, and is free after 6 p.m.

Parking and transportation can be a headache, if you are new to the area, or attending the festival for the first time. The Sundance Film Festival is meant to be enjoyed thoroughly, and for this purpose they provide multiple tips on how to get around without worrying about your car, towing costs, getting lost, etc.
