There are a lot of things a woman learns when she becomes a mom, and many of them involve the evolution of personal style. I, for example, recently had to retire my long, dangly earrings, thanks to a quick and curious pair of grabby hands. My four-inch heels are reserved for date night, as they're not exactly the best footwear for toting around a six-month-old in a car seat.

But this is where the learning curve comes in, moms: just because we have to put a few items in storage doesn't mean we have to give up style completely. While you’re switching out handbag for diaper bag, why not go for one that is functional while still fitting your style fancy?

And as far as footwear goes, tennis shoes aren’t the only alternative to stilletos. Let’s meet somewhere in the middle with a pair of oxfords or sassy flats.
