Utah has never had a darth of dance companies. In fact, you could argue that we have more high-quality dance per citizen than any American city. (Not to mention all that awful amateur dance-group stuff.)
Now we've got one more. Danish choreographer Charlotte Boye-Christensen and Canadian architect Nathan Webster founded NOW International/Interdisciplinary Dance Co. to connect the beauty of the American West with an international group of collaborators, including artists, designers and architects.
Boye-Christensen and Webster are basing the company in Salt Lake City and seeking Kickstarter funding ahead of their first performance, "The Wedding," which will be staged in Salt Lake City's Masonic Temple. For as little as $15, you can be in at the beginning.
"The Wedding," July 26 and 27, 7:30, at the Salt Lake City Masonic Temple, 650 E. South Temple.
