Gastronomes of fine food and handcrafted beer are invited this Friday June 14, to The Snowpine Lodge in Little Cottonwood Canyon, as they host an Epic Beer Pairing Dinner.

Epic Brewing Company's Ty Eldridge will present offerings from the local award winning brewery, while Chef Nate Nagy prepares five courses of delectable seasonal faire. Pairings include oysters and belgian, braised pork and pale, monkfish and red, lamb and brown, with a chocolate and cheese fifth course.

Native New Hampshirite Chef Nagy has worked under renowned chef Todd English at his famous Olives Restaurant, and as head chef at English's Argentinian inspired steakhouse, Bonfire. He's also spent time at "Best of Boston" seafood restaurant, Neptune Oyster.

Nagy's passion for food is matched by his passion for skiing; he moved west in 2012 after several years of Alta ski vacations finally got under his skin. His timing was perfect- the lodge had just been purchased by an East Coast family, and new management was looking for a spectacular chef to augment the vacationer experience. Nagy has been considered to be the perfect choice by management, as their first ski season together ended to rave reviews.

"The inspiration for this event came from Nate's desire to become an active member of the exciting local food scene in Utah," says Robin Cohen, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Lodge. "Epic's award winning beers are a great match for Nate's food."
