Taste of the Nation was one of the first versions of a now-familiar fundraising format: Food-lovers pay to spend hours sampling food and wine from their favorite local restaurants to raise funds for local food banks.

In Utah, Taste of the Nation became Taste of the Wasatch and if possible, is more popular than it ever has been, with both restaurants and festival-goers. The grassy meadow at Solitude Mountain Resort is an idyllic place to spend a summer afternoon, and the roster of restaurants and bakeries serving food is a near-comprehensive round-up of great Utah dining: Take a look at the list below, add in Uintah Brewery, Smartwater, Rimini Coffee and a selection of wines.

Unfortunately, this year, the Utah Dept. of Alcohol Beverage Control has decided that minors will not be allowed at Taste of the Wasatch, so to participate in this perfectly wholesome, beautifully philanthropic event you'll have to leave the kids at home. Ahhh, Utah.
