"One of the things that makes it different is it's a fundraiser dressed up as a terrific party," says Stephen Brown, Director of SB Dance. "There are easier ways to raise money, but nothing is a better party."
The event will take place at the Rose Wagner Center, which features a new layout with theater seating for optimal viewing of the showcase, DJ areas for partying and a quieter lounge for catching up with friends.
"What's really fun about this event, for me, is that the atmosphere is pretty cool," Brown says. "You walk in and it is dramatic with installations of huge lights and materials. It's got this cool New York club atmosphere. That makes it pretty fun—you go in and you feel like you're on stage yourself."
SB Dance will be performing live in the cabaret-style setting. The event will feature wine selections by Tracey Thompson of Vine Lore Wine and Spirits, Squatters beer and signature cocktails. WTF! goers can also mix and mingle with friends while enjoying some of the greatest food around the state from Bistro 222, Boulevard Bistro, Brio Tuscan Grill and Beehive Cheese Company.
The evening will also include a silent auction featuring deals on luxury experiences like private chef packages. If you can't attend, SB Dance will put the food-centric prizes on an online auction as well.
"It's really a great turnout of restaurants and makers in support of great arts groups," Brown says. "It's great to feel the support of these groups reaching out."
The party will be on Dec. 7 from 7:30–11:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or by phone at 801-355-ARTS.
