Nelson Mandela lead his country out of apartheid and is an international symbol of human rights.
To honor his memory, Westminster College is holding a candle light vigil for the South African freedom fighter who died on Thursday at age 95.
Guests will celebrate Mandela's life and battle against racial oppression through song, speech and video. The event is open to the public, and all who attend are invited to bring a candle to light in Mandela's memory.
The vigil will be held Dec. 9, from 6–7 p.m., in the Dolores Dore Eccles Health, Wellness, and Athletic Center Special Events Room.
