There seemed to be a common hairstyle trend among female celebs at last night's Golden Globe Awards.

Loose, tousled waves parted straight down the middle or slightly to the side created a relaxed look on more than one of Hollywood's leading ladies.

We were particularly drawn to Utah's own Julianne Hough and her textured hairdo that boasted a small boho braid in front.

You can easily recreate this hairstyle at home with a few styling products and tools (or no tools at all, if you're blessed with natural waves.)

Step one: Towel dry hair, scruncing out any excess water. Spray Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray on damp hair and scrunch while combing the product through with your fingers.

Step two: Allow hair to airdry (if you have natural wave) or blowdry on a low setting while scrunching the hair to create waves. You may want to consider using a diffuser attachment to help enhance waves even more.

Step three: If needed, you can create additional waves by using a flat iron. Narrow (about one inch) irons work best. Section off a small piece of hair, clamp the flat iron at the root, wrap the hair around the iron, then rotate the iron in the direction you want the curl to go. It's important to keep the flat iron moving as you rotate, or you'll end up with a crease. Use your fingers to comb through the curl while it's still hot to loosen it.

Step four: Braid a small section at the front of the hair and secure it behind your ear with a bobby pin.

Step five: Finish the look with a workable hold hairspray like Osis elastic flexible hold. Firm holding hairsprays could make the hair look crunchy, and what we're going for here is soft and flowing.
