“I like to make dreams come true.”—Nelly Martinez, co-owner of The Little Cake Shop

Valentine’s may be over, but that doesn’t mean the sweets have to stop. The next time you want to impress with a quirky cake or classy cookies, try The Little Cake Shop in Sandy.

With a background in art and love of baking, opening a cake shop was a no-brainer for Nelly Martinez.

She moved here 20 years ago from the Dominican Republic, and after her kids were grown, no longer needing cupcake parties, Nelly began designing dream cakes for her friends and family. She opened her brick-and-mortar business three months ago.

At The Little Cake Shop, Nelly creates custom cakes, cupcakes and cookies. Whether you’re expecting or proposing, Nelly will work with you side-by-side to make it a magical occasion.

“Whatever people want I can make it happen,” Nelly says. Whether your 5-year-old wants a Halloween monster cake or your mom a three-tiered butterfly waterfall, Nelly has got you covered. And it's all delicious.

See The Little Cake Shop at the Utah Latin Expo this Friday, Feb. 28, or visit them in Sandy.
