This will mark another year of Utah Symphony's longstanding performances of Mahler pieces, a tradition that started in 1951.
In addition to Mahler's Symphony the Maestro Thierry Fischer will conduct music written by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn’s “The Representation of Chaos” from “The Creation” and percussionist Colin Currie will perform two pieces by Elliott Carter—“Figment V” for solo marimba, and “Two Controversies and a Conversation."
The Utah Symphony also invites all guests to sign up for the 5K portion of the Salt Lake Marathon to truly make it a "Day of Fives." Use the online code "dayof5s" when you sign up to get a $5 discount on your ticket purchase. Fischer and Currie will both be running.
And you can win tickets to one of the shows at Abravanel Hall from us:
To enter to win two tickets to either the performances on April 18 or 19 (your pick), leave a comment below telling us what you love most about Utah Symphony.
Be sure to include your email in the designated field or in the comment itself so we can get in touch with you if you win. We will pick a winner on April 10.
