The Young Riders organization brings back its annual Bike Swap to Park City this weekend, May 10–11, officially ringing in the cycling season and the longer summer days that lay ahead.

Whether you’re looking to pocket some cash from a clunker, upgrade to a new (to you) ride, or simply see what biking is all about, the Young Riders Bike Swap is a massive trove of bicycles in all sizes and styles. “A lot of families bring in their kids bikes that are too small and will upgrade to the next size,” says Julie Minahan, one of the directors at Young Riders. “It’s affordable for families.”

She speaks the truth. Attendees will find killer deals on bikes (think: cruisers, fixies, full-suspensions, roadies, kids rigs and more), trailers, accessories and apparel. “Anything bike related we’ll have it,” Minahan says.

Just be sure to set your alarm clock for first crack at the swap’s selection. “We sell over 500 bikes at our swap and 85 percent of the inventory is gone within the first three hours,” Minahan says.

With every sale, the non-profit organization skims 20 percent off the top and puts the funds towards Youth Riders scholarship programs, Hispanic youth programs, local trail advocacy efforts and getting more kids on bikes.

Power to the pedal.
