Wine birthdays are always celebrated late, So the first week of June, Salt Lakers will finally have the chance to celebrate a birthday that started two years ago.

2012 was the 40th anniversary of one of California’s iconic vineyards, Caymus Vineyards, the only winery ever to win Wine Spectator’s prestigious “Wine of the Year” twice. It just so happens that 2012 was also an epic Napa Valley Cabernet vintage. Caymus produces two Cabernets Sauvignons–the "Napa Valley" and the famous "Special Selection," never produced in difficult years and made from the best barrels. The Special Selection routinely earns high scores–91 to 98–from Wine Spectator.

But third generation Caymus owner Chuck Wagner calls the 2012 Cabernet the best wine he’s ever made. With his parents Charlie F. Qwagner and Lorna Belle Gos Wagner, Chuck established Caymus Vineyards in 1972. 

Libation, Inc, will be presenting this wine, as well as new releases of Belle Glos “Clark & Telephone” Vineyard Santa Barbara Pinot Noir 2013, the debut of Caymus Merlot project “Emmolo”, made by Chuck Wagner’s daughter Jenny and other yet-to-be-named treats at several food and wine events, pairing Caymus wines with cuisine.
